THE HAPPY BUS TOUR:
The Happy Bus performance is a twenty-minute set, involving poems about dissociation, depression, clarity, overcoming, peace and joy. Although the Happy Bus story is about recovery from anxiety and depression stemming from childhood abuse, there are no graphic abuse poems and the performance should feel leave you feeling exhilarated, or certainly not depressed. The poems are easy to understand and involve some audience participation and a silly wolf costume.
The Jack Russells will be peddling furiously and – with the Labrador in charge of gears – on Tuesday 9th January we’ll be at Oooh Beehive, The Beehive Pub, Swindon SN1 3JS at 7.30pm, along with the inimitable Robert Garnham and Ian Beech !
On Tuesday 16th January, I’ll be honoured to be featuring with Abegail Morley and Marjorie Caine with Kent & Sussex Poetry, in the upstairs room at the Vittle & Swig (www.vittleandswig.co.uk) in Tunbridge Wells, TN1 2PT. 7.45 for 8pm start. (Admission to non-members: £3 (students £2).
On Thursday 8th February, The Happy Bus is at Poco Loco in Chatham, with Barry Fentiman-Hall (yay!) .
More dates are being planned further afield!
Being a bit of a hybrid, the Happy Bus goes nicely with both page and performance poetry. If you’d like the Happy Bus to visit your town, you can ask me via the “CONTACT” tab.
